Why a gimbal camera works so well for car shoots
Pocket-style gimbal cameras are small, light and stabilised on three axes. That means less weight hanging off a suction cup and smoother footage than a phone or action camera clamped rigidly to the car. Settings that help
Shoot 4K at 24 or 30fps for a cinematic look, or 60fps if you want to slow parts down. Use an ND filter in daylight so motion blur looks natural; we offer DJI Pocket and Insta360 Luna ND filter sets. A black mist filter softens harsh highlights for a dreamy night drive look. Lock the gimbal follow mode for exterior shots so the horizon stays level through turns.
Safety first
Clean the surface and the suction cups before mounting, then press firmly and test by tugging gently. Start slow and keep exterior mounts to low speed, car parks and controlled shoots. Never block the driver's view, and follow traffic rules and the instructions of any venue or event organiser. Use a safety tether where possible.
