How to Choose a Camera Rental in Singapore: What to Compare
Rates, deposits, collection times and response speed: what to check before you rent a camera in Singapore.
What is the short answer?
Compare four things before you book: what the rate actually covers, how the deposit works, when you collect and return, and how fast the shop replies. A cheaper daily rate can cost more if collection eats into your shoot day.
What does a one-day rate cover?
At Arkework Studio you collect during the collection window the day before your rental and return during the return window the day after. So a one-day rental covers your whole shoot day, not a 24-hour block that starts when you walk in. Ask any shop exactly when collection and return happen.
How do deposits differ?
Some shops hold a large cash deposit. Arkework offers a refundable PayNow or Wise deposit, or a $0 card-on-file option, and returns deposits after the gear is checked. Ask how long refunds take and what counts as damage.
How fast can I confirm a booking?
Most rental shops reply by email or a booking form. Arkework works through WhatsApp: build a request list on the site, send it in one message, and get availability and the exact price back. Payment confirms the booking.
What should first-time renters check?
Bring valid ID, test the gear when you collect it, and read the rental terms before paying. Tourists usually need extra verification, such as passport plus hotel and flight itineraries.
Can I pay in instalments?
Arkework accepts PayNow, cards and several PayLater options, with a small fee on PayLater. Check the payment methods on the homepage.
